Extender

Does Extender need to be accessible directly from the PrivX server? Which protocol is used? In which direction do they communicate?

No. Extender needs HTTPS access to PrivX on port 443, but Extender does not need to be accessible from PrivX. The encrypted connections between PrivX and Extender are tunneled through secure web sockets.

Does the Extender require AWS IAM rights/permissions?

Extender does not need any IAM rights or permissions to be assigned to it, the extender is only acting as a forwarder for SSH/RDP/HTTPS (and UDP traffic for PrivX OT).
