What data is stored in the database, and is it encrypted?
Non-sensitive configuration data/metadata is stored within the database in non-encrypted form. Access secrets, credentials and cryptographic keys are encrypted and stored in either the Secrets or Key Vault segments of the database.

What can HSM’s be used to store?
Master/private keys can be stored within a supported HSM which must be configured at initial setup if to be used. For more information about the supported HSM providers, see the articles under HSM Providers.
Is my network communication encrypted when using PrivX?
Yes, browser based sessions are encrypted end to end using TLS 1.2 by default and can be increased to 1.3.
