File transfer in RDP session is slow
Customer may find file transfer in RDP session is slow with PrivX. The slowness is caused by several reasons.
- RDP protocol is not designed for file transfer, and this is the primary reason why it is slow.
- When transferring files with PrivX, the files are copied to PrivX server first. This extra hop takes place in both directions and adds some delay to the transfer.
- You may find transfer faster in one direction, but slower in the other. Based on our investigation, this has to do with the memory allocation technique in a 3rd party component that PrivX is integrated with.
We recommend you to use SSH Tectia Server to transfer large files in windows environment.
