Deployment

The Deployment category contains instructions how to deploy PrivX on either on-premise servers or cloud service provider instances.

Choosing Setup

Choose the instructions that match your goal:

  • Evaluating PrivX: Follow Quick PrivX Setup to install a PrivX server with suggested settings for evaluation.
  • Deploying PrivX for production: Start with Preparing for Deployment, then follow the installation instructions for your environment. Plan capacity, network connectivity, certificates, backups, and availability according to your requirements.

Before using PrivX in production, complete the Production-Readiness Checklist.

Getting PrivX Software for installing on-premise or cloud instances. The software is delivered as an RPM package and requires Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Rocky Linux or Amazon Linux operating system.

Choosing Deployment Environment

Choose a deployment environment based on your infrastructure, network connectivity, operational requirements, and data-location requirements.

  • On-premises deployment can suit organizations that need to keep PrivX infrastructure within their own facilities or close to internal systems. Your organization manages the required hardware, capacity, and availability.
  • Cloud deployment can suit organizations that already operate cloud infrastructure or want to provision servers without maintaining physical hardware. Consider connectivity to target hosts, ongoing infrastructure costs, and responsibility for securing and maintaining the deployment.

The location of PrivX does not need to match the location of every target host. Plan network connectivity between PrivX components and targets, and use PrivX Extenders where PrivX servers cannot reach targets directly.
